VeinGogh Ohmic Thermolysis – Frequently Asked Questions

VeinGogh Ohmic Thermolysis is a minimally invasive treatment for spider veins and small vascular lesions. It uses controlled microbursts of high-frequency energy to heat and collapse the problematic veins without damaging surrounding skin tissue.

The VeinGogh is effective in the treatment of spider veins (telangiectasia), and small vascular lesions.

Individuals with small, visible veins that are not suitable for sclerotherapy or laser treatments may benefit from VeinGogh. It is also suitable for treating delicate areas, such as the face and ankles.

  • Minimally invasive – No incisions or injections required
  • Fast results – Visible improvement in just one session
  • Quick procedure – Typically takes 20-30 minutes
  • No downtime – Patients can resume daily activities immediately
  • Precise treatment – Targets only the affected vein without harming nearby skin

Step 1: Application of anesthetic cream

A numbing cream is applied to the targeted areas 15-20 mins before the procedure.

Step 2: Targeting the problematic vein
A fine microprobe is placed in contact with the affected vein.

Step 3: Heat energy delivery
The device delivers precise microbursts of heat energy, causing the vein to coagulate and collapse.

Step 4: Natural absorption
Over time, the body naturally absorbs the closed vein, reducing its appearance.

Most patients experience only mild discomfort, similar to a slight pinch or warm sensation. Only topical anesthesia cream is required, and the procedure is well tolerated.

  • No downtime; patients can return to normal activities immediately.
  • Compression stockings may be recommended for 1 to 2 weeks.
  • Minor swelling, bruising, redness or pigmentation may occur but resolve with time.
  • Avoid strenuous exercise, hot baths, or sun exposure for a few days.

The number of sessions depends on the size and number of veins being treated. Some patients see full results after one session, while others may require multiple sessions (typically 2-3 sessions) for more complete resolution.

The procedure is safe with minimal side effects, but some patients may experience temporary redness, mild swelling, or slight skin discoloration in rare cases.
