CONDITIONS TREATED

Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT)

Treatment Types

Medication and Supportive Care

Most DVT cases are treated with anticoagulants (“blood thinners”) such as DOACs (e.g., rivaroxaban, apixaban), LMWH injections, or warfarin. These medications prevent the clot from growing and allow the body to slowly dissolve it. Treatment typically lasts 3–6 months, longer for high-risk or recurrent cases.

Compression stockings help reduce swelling and improve circulation, while leg elevation can relieve discomfort. Safe mobilization, hydration, and lifestyle adjustments support recovery and prevent future clots.

Advanced Minimally Invasive Procedures

For large, extensive, or limb-threatening clots, we provide catheter-directed thrombolysis, mechanical thrombectomy, angioplasty, stenting, and IVC filter placement in patients who cannot take blood thinners. These techniques restore blood flow quickly and reduce long-term complications like post-thrombotic syndrome.
